HORACIO FUMERO

Horacio Fumero is one of the most fundamental bass players of the past and present of jazz in Catalonia. A key musician in our national jazz scene, one of the pillars that has led us to this sweet and creative time of the scene in Barcelona.
Horacio Fumero was born in Cañada Rosquín, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. In 1973 he traveled to Europe with Gato Barbieri for the Montreux Jazz Festival and the major jazz festivals in Europe. After living in Geneva he established in 1980 in Barcelona, where he was part of the Tete’s Montoliu permanent trio. With the trio or as freelance he played with Freddie Hubbard, Johnny Griffin, Horace Parlan, Danilo Perez, Joe Newman, Idris Muhammad, etc. In Spain collaborates regularly with all the distinguished musicians from the jazz scene. With Argentinian musicians he usually plays with Adrian Iaies, Luis Salinas, Pablo Mainetti, Rodolfo Mederos, Horacio Ferrer, Susana Rinaldi, etc Currently a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona. With more than 50 recordings as sideman, in 2005 records his first two albums, “Des de Barcelona” and “Isoca”. In 2006 he continues with a new record, “Contrabajeando”.
